This Tuesday evening, all eyes will be on Rabat, where the Atlas Lionesses face Ghana in the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. It’s a golden opportunity for the Moroccan team to reach the WAFCON final on home soil for the second time in a row.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, head coach Jorge Vilda said his players are determined to go beyond the semi-finals. “They have a tremendous desire to fight for the title. The pressure? They’re turning it into positive energy,” he explained.

The Spanish coach expressed confidence, praising his team’s physical and mental preparation, strengthened by two months of intense training. He also highlighted the importance of fan support and the advantage of playing every match on home soil. “The players are ready, united, and in top form,” he said.

Facing a Ghanaian side known for its intensity and speed, the national coach urged caution. “Ghana can make the difference at any moment, but we know what we have to do,” he said.

Kick-off is set for 8 p.m. at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium. Earlier in the day, at 5 p.m., the other semi-final will see Nigeria take on South Africa in Casablanca. Should Morocco advance, they would face one of these two African football giants in the final.
