Nayef Aguerd remains on the radar of Naples. While his return to Real Sociedad did not materialize, the Moroccan international is reappearing among the solutions being considered by the Italian club to strengthen its defensive line.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, discussions between Naples and Chelsea regarding Benoît Badiashile are currently at a standstill. Aurelio De Laurentiis’s agreement is still needed to validate an additional bonus of around one million euros related to the option to purchase the French defender.
This situation could allow Aguerd’s option to regain significance. The Italian transfer market specialist specifies, however, that the Atlas Lion currently represents an alternative solution. No recent contact or advanced negotiations with Olympique de Marseille have been announced yet.
The interest from Naples in the 30-year-old defender was already revealed on August 7. At that time, Naples had not accelerated, while Real Sociedad seemed close to finalizing his return. Still under contract with OM, Aguerd now sees his future remaining open as the final weeks of the transfer window approach.
