The Moroccan central defender Redouane Halhal is on the verge of taking a new step in his career. According to several sources, Venice is close to reaching an agreement with KV Mechelen for the transfer of the Lion of the Atlas. The operation is estimated at 5 million euros, to which bonuses could be added, an amount that reflects the growing reputation of the 23-year-old player.
Arriving in Mechelen during the summer of 2024, Halhal is under contract with the Belgian club until June 2027. In just two seasons, the defender trained in France has established himself as an important member of his team thanks to his defensive solidity, quality of distribution, and consistency, thus attracting the attention of several European clubs.
A Moroccan international, the Montpellier native has also taken a significant step by joining the Lions of the Atlas. He participated in the 2026 World Cup with the Moroccan national team led by Mohamed Ouahbi.
Before Venice’s approach, Hellas Verona and Club Brugge had already expressed interest in Redouane Halhal. During the winter transfer window, the Verona club reportedly offered around 3.5 million euros, an offer that was rejected by the Mechelen management. This time, Venice seems to have taken a lead with a more convincing proposal.
If the transfer is officially confirmed in the coming days, Redouane Halhal will discover Serie A, a league known for its tactical demands on defenders.
