Hamza Igamane will have to wait a bit longer before returning to competition with LOSC. Still in the recovery phase, the Moroccan international forward will not participate in Lille’s match against OGC Nice on Sunday at 5:15 PM, as part of the 5th round of Ligue 1.
Present at a press conference on Friday, Davide Ancelotti provided details on the health status of his forward. While Igamane has now returned to training grounds, he has not yet fully reintegrated into collective training.
“Hamza Igamane is not training with the group; he is training individually. It’s good to have him on the field next to us, there are small moments when we integrate him, and it’s always beneficial for an injured player,” explained the LOSC coach.
These few sequences performed with his teammates, however, indicate progress in his recovery program. Igamane is still undergoing individualized training, and no specific date for his return to competition has been announced. Lille seems to want to proceed gradually with the Moroccan international so that he can rejoin the group under good conditions.
His absence against Nice was expected, but Ancelotti’s statements bring a new positive element: after a long period away from the group, Igamane is now starting to be integrated occasionally into certain phases of Lille’s training sessions.
