Just arrived in the Principality, Aymen Assab has already taken an important first step. The 17-year-old Franco-Moroccan midfielder was spotted training with the professional group of AS Monaco, just a few days after signing his first contract with the club.
Trained at Paris Saint-Germain, where he was part of the promising 2008 generation, Assab chose to continue his development on the Rock despite PSG’s attempts to keep him. After a remarkable season with the Paris U19s, highlighted by a victory in the Gambardella Cup and the U19 French championship title, the young midfielder quickly established himself as one of the most followed talents of his generation.
AS Monaco did not wait to offer him a first immersion at the highest level. Upon returning, Aymen Assab was integrated into the first team’s training sessions alongside several young players from the Academy, a sign of confidence that reflects the club’s interest in his development. This presence with the professionals does not mean he will immediately play in Ligue 1, but it will allow him to acclimate to the demands of the very high level while continuing his progress.
A French U18 international, Aymen Assab is also well acquainted with the Moroccan youth teams, having already been called up with the Moroccan U17s in 2024. His development will therefore be closely monitored from both sides, as his potential already generates significant expectations.
At just 17 years old, this first contact with the professional group of AS Monaco marks a new step in the rise of a player considered one of the most promising midfielders of his generation.
