The transfer of Youssef En-Nesyri continues to have financial repercussions for Fenerbahçe. The Turkish club must pay nearly three million euros to Sevilla FC following a FIFA decision regarding the payment terms of the Moroccan striker’s transfer.
Recruited by Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2024 for an amount close to 19.5 million euros, En-Nesyri was subject to staggered payments. However, a deadline set for April 30, 2026, was not met on time, prompting Sevilla FC to turn to FIFA.
Fenerbahçe has since indicated that this overdue installment has been settled by its new management. However, in its proceedings before the international body, the Andalusian club also demanded payment of the next installment. FIFA responded to this request, now obliging the Istanbul-based team to advance this payment, which is estimated to be around 2.9 million euros.
This matter is also the reason for the temporary recruitment ban imposed on Fenerbahçe for three transfer periods. The Turkish club has clarified that this sanction should be lifted once the requested payment is made and the administrative procedures with FIFA are finalized.
Fenerbahçe announced its intention to proceed with the payment as early as Monday, September 28. This situation comes several months after En-Nesyri’s departure, as he left Turkey to join Al-Ittihad last February.
