Redouane Halhal could leave KV Mechelen during the summer transfer window. The Moroccan international defender wishes to take a new step in his career after establishing himself in Belgium. According to information from Sacha Tavolieri, several French and Italian clubs are monitoring his profile and could make their interest known in the coming weeks.
The 23-year-old player has just completed a full season with the Mechelen club. After a loan spell at Helmond Sport in the Netherlands, he managed to secure his place in the KV Mechelen defense. His consistency and progress have boosted his value, particularly among clubs competing in more prestigious leagues.
Halhal also gained high-level experience with the Atlas Lions during the 2026 World Cup. He started against Haiti in Morocco’s 4-2 victory in the group stage and then returned to the starting eleven against Canada in the round of 16. Morocco won 3-0 to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
For the quarter-final lost against France, Mohamed Ouahbi ultimately preferred Noussair Mazraoui alongside Issa Diop in the center of defense. The full-back was thus used in an unprecedented formation, leaving Halhal on the bench at kick-off.
Under contract with KV Mechelen, the Moroccan defender could now capitalize on his season in Belgium and his two starts at the World Cup to join a new league. No club has yet made an official offer, but his situation is expected to gain momentum as the transfer window progresses.
