The Moroccan international Samir El Mourabet has taken a new step towards a transfer to the Bundesliga after reaching a personal agreement with RB Leipzig on the terms of his contract, according to the latest information from Foot Mercato.
According to journalist Santi Aouna, El Mourabet has agreed to RB Leipzig’s project. The German club is thus moving closer to a definitive agreement with the player, just a few days after the start of negotiations.
However, this agreement with the player does not mean that the transfer is official. The main obstacle remains the agreement to be reached between RB Leipzig and Strasbourg, the club with which El Mourabet is still under contract. Foot Mercato specifies that negotiations between the two clubs will be crucial to finalize the operation.
RB Leipzig wishes to recruit El Mourabet as well as his teammate at Strasbourg, Diego Moreira, as part of its strategy to strengthen its squad with young talents who have significant room for development. The German club’s interest in the Moroccan midfielder follows his performances in the Alsatian colors, where he has managed to establish himself as an important member of the team.
At 20 years old, El Mourabet is still under contract with Strasbourg, which will have the final say regarding the terms of his departure. For his part, the player seems attracted by the prospect of discovering the Bundesliga, particularly within a club known for giving significant opportunities to young talents and fostering their development.
