Tawfik Bentayeb will continue his career at RSC Anderlecht. The Moroccan forward signed a four-season contract with the Brussels club this Thursday afternoon. He will wear the number 21, which he also used during his loan at Troyes. RSCA is expected to officially present its new recruit this Friday.
The agreement reached with Union Touarga is estimated at 4.5 million euros, including bonuses. With the final administrative details settled, the 24-year-old player can now begin a new chapter in his career in the Belgian league.
Bentayeb joins Belgium after a particularly successful season at Troyes. Loaned by Union Touarga, the Casablanca native scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 31 matches. With 18 goals in 28 league games, he finished as the top scorer in Ligue 2 and significantly contributed to the club’s promotion.
At Anderlecht, Bentayeb will reunite with Antoine Sibierski. The current sporting director of RSCA knows the Moroccan forward well, having brought him to Troyes on loan last summer. Trained at the Mohammed VI Academy and belonging to Union Touarga before this transfer, the striker will now discover the Belgian elite.
