Tawfik Bentayeb is heading to RSC Anderlecht. The Brussels club has reportedly reached an agreement with Union Sportive Touarga for the transfer of the Moroccan forward, for a fee of around four million euros, which could include various bonuses.
Convinced by the sporting project of the Mauves, the 24-year-old player is now waiting for his work permit to finalize the deal. Unless there are administrative delays, the final formalities should precede the signing of his contract and the official announcement of his arrival.
Anderlecht initially offered three million euros before increasing their bid to convince Union Touarga. Bentayeb’s profile is also well known to Antoine Sibierski, the current sporting director at Anderlecht, who was involved in his arrival at Troyes.
The Moroccan has just come off a particularly successful season in France, scoring 20 goals and providing three assists in 31 matches across all competitions. With 18 goals in Ligue 2, he finished as the league’s top scorer and contributed to Troyes’ title and promotion. After notable stints at Rodez and in the Aube, Bentayeb now seems ready to take the next step in his career in Belgium.
