Sofyan Amrabat is set to continue his career at Ajax Amsterdam. According to Dutch journalist Mike Verweij, the Moroccan international midfielder has reached a verbal agreement with the Amsterdam club for a two-season contract, lasting until June 2028.
Still under contract with Fenerbahçe, the 30-year-old player has reportedly received assurance that he can terminate his commitment with the Turkish club. Once this step is finalized, Amrabat will be able to join Ajax for free, with discussions led by Jordi Cruijff having reached a consensus.
Loaned last season to Real Betis, the Atlas Lion is thus preparing to return to the Netherlands, where he began his career with FC Utrecht before moving to Feyenoord. He has also played for Club Brugge, Hellas Verona, Fiorentina, Manchester United, and Fenerbahçe.
A Moroccan international since 2017, Amrabat has 78 caps and has participated in the World Cups of 2018, 2022, and 2026. His experience would be a significant boost for Ajax’s midfield, although the operation still needs to be officially completed.
