PSV Eindhoven is reportedly considering signing Souffian El Karouani, left-back for FC Utrecht, to strengthen their squad. According to sports journalist Mounir Boualin, the imminent departure of Matteo Dams to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia for an estimated €9 million is reducing the club’s options on the left flank, especially with Sergiño Dest currently sidelined due to injury.
The current Eredivisie leaders are actively seeking to fill this gap before the winter transfer window closes. El Karouani, an offensive and versatile player, perfectly matches the profile the club is looking for.
At 24, El Karouani is having an excellent season with FC Utrecht. Having joined the club in 2023 on a free transfer, the Atlas Lion with three international caps has already provided six assists and scored a stunning direct free kick against Heracles Almelo. Utrecht is likely already rubbing their hands in anticipation of a profitable transfer.
His performances have also caught the attention of clubs in the Premier League and Serie A. Valued at €5 million by Transfermarkt, the player is under contract until 2026, which could complicate negotiations. PSV will need to act quickly if they wish to secure the services of the Moroccan international.
