The Paris Saint-Germain suffered a home defeat against AS Monaco (1-3) on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Parc des Princes, in the opening match of the 25th round of Ligue 1. This marks a significant setback for the Parisian club, which loses its unbeaten home record in the league this season, while Monaco revives its momentum with a prestigious victory in the capital.
The Monégasques struck first with Maghnes Akliouche in the 27th minute, before Aleksandr Golovin doubled the lead after the break. PSG attempted to get back into the match thanks to Bradley Barcola, well assisted by Achraf Hakimi, who provided the decisive pass and played the entire match. However, the Parisian hope was short-lived, as Folarin Balogun quickly restored a two-goal advantage for ASM to seal the outcome of the match.
Despite this difficult evening for the Parisians, Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi was one of the few offensive players to make a decisive impact. Present for the full 90 minutes, the right-back confirmed his importance in PSG’s attacking play by delivering the assist for his team’s only goal. With an important European fixture approaching, this defeat raises questions for the Paris side, while Hakimi continues to shine on an individual level.
