Osame Sahraoui scores for Lille during the international break

Osame Sahraoui took advantage of the international break to stand out in the colors of LOSC. The Moroccan international found the back of the net during Lille’s victory against Zulte Waregem (2-1) on Friday, in a friendly match played behind closed doors at the Domaine de Luchin.

Starting in a supporting role behind Olivier Giroud, Sahraoui helped the Dogues quickly get back into the match after the Belgians opened the scoring in the 12th minute. In the 17th minute, Gaëtan Perrin found him centrally at the edge of the box. The Moroccan controlled the ball, turned, and then placed a perfectly aimed shot past the goalkeeper to equalize.

Lille then took the lead just before the end of the first half thanks to Olivier Giroud. The former French international converted a penalty awarded to Tiago Santos in the 35th minute, ultimately securing the victory for Davide Ancelotti’s men. The match was played in a special format of two 35-minute halves to keep the players who remained at the club during this long international break in rhythm.

Sahraoui started the match before leaving the pitch in the 52nd minute. His performance and goal allow him to make the most of this period without official competition to accumulate playing time ahead of the resumption of Ligue 1.
