Amine Harit had significant playing time during Olympique de Marseille’s last preparation match. Starting this Friday against Atlético de Madrid at the Vélodrome, the Moroccan international played 86 minutes despite Marseille’s defeat (1-2).
Positioned in an offensive role, Harit was active in the game and contributed to his team’s best sequences. The Moroccan also came close to scoring, like Timothy Weah and Amine Gouiri, but was unable to convert his chances. He eventually made way for Keyliane Abdallah in the final minutes.
OM had initially taken the lead thanks to Igor Paixão, who scored the opening goal in the 21st minute. Atlético responded before halftime with a goal from Rodrigo Mendoza (38th), and then Carlos Martín secured the victory for the Madrid team in the 77th minute.
Back in Marseille after his loan at Istanbul Başakşehir, Harit is using the summer preparation to regain rhythm and try to secure a place in Bruno Genesio’s plans. This starting position is an encouraging sign just a week before the start of Ligue 1, scheduled for August 21 against Strasbourg.
