Olympiakos has unveiled an initial list of players selected for the double confrontation against NEC Nijmegen, part of the third qualifying round of the Champions League. Anass Salah-Eddine is not yet included, as the Greek club is still trying to finalize the arrival of the Moroccan left-back.
The Piraeus team still has several days to modify its squad. A quick conclusion of the deal would allow Salah-Eddine to be registered for this European challenge. The Moroccan international is reported to be close to Olympiakos after dismissing the idea of a permanent transfer to PSV Eindhoven, but Real Betis is also monitoring his situation.
Two significant absences are also noteworthy in the attacking sector. Mehdi Taremi and Roman Yaremchuk have not been included in this provisional list, mainly due to uncertainties surrounding their futures. The Iranian striker could leave the club during the summer transfer window. However, both players can still be added before the final registration deadline.
In attack, José Luis Mendilibar can count on Ayoub El Kaabi, Gelson Martins, Giorgos Masouras, Jota Silva, and Joel Casals. Olympiakos will host NEC on Tuesday, August 4, in Piraeus, before traveling a week later to Nijmegen for the return leg.
