Neil El Aynaoui officially leaves AS Roma after just one season in Italy. The Moroccan international midfielder joins RB Leipzig on loan with an option to buy, as announced by the Roman club in an official statement on Tuesday evening.
The two clubs did not disclose the financial details of the operation. According to information published before the official announcement, Leipzig is expected to pay four million euros for the loan, while the option to buy has been set at 25 million euros. This option could become mandatory if certain conditions are met.
The transfer almost fell through in the final hours of the transfer window due to difficulties that arose during the finalization of the deal. El Aynaoui ultimately passed his medical examination, and the agreement was concluded before the closure of the German market.
Arriving from RC Lens in the summer of 2025, the Atlas Lion has played 35 matches in all competitions with Roma, scoring two goals. At 25 years old, he will now discover the Bundesliga and attempt to establish himself in the midfield of RB Leipzig.
