Neil El Aynaoui could leave AS Roma before the transfer window closes. RB Leipzig has engaged in discussions with the Italian club to recruit the Moroccan international midfielder on a paid loan with an option to buy.
The negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing, and no definitive agreement has been reached yet. The information revealed by Fabrizio Romano is also confirmed by Gianluca Di Marzio and Italian journalist Filippo Biafora. The amount of the loan and the option to buy have not yet been disclosed.
Leipzig currently represents the most concrete option for the 25-year-old player, although Crystal Palace remains interested as well. Arriving in Rome in July 2025 from RC Lens, El Aynaoui could thus discover the Bundesliga just one season after settling in Serie A.
The departure of the Atlas Lion could also push Roma to recruit a new midfielder. The Roman club has reportedly revived interest in Colombian Richard Ríos, currently at Benfica, to replace El Aynaoui in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
