Morocco-Mali: the starting eleven of the Atlas Lions

The national coach has revealed his starting eleven to face Mali this Sunday at the Grand Stade de Tanger.

Yassine Bounou will start in goal and wear the captain’s armband. In front of him, Morocco will line up with a four-man defense. Ali Maamar will occupy the right flank, while Anass Salah-Eddine will take his place on the left. In the center, Nayef Aguerd will be partnered with Sofiane Diop.

In midfield, Neil El Aynaoui will be supported by Ayyoub Bouaddi. Bilal El Khannouss, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, and Azzedine Ounahi complete a particularly robust midfield, tasked with ensuring both ball control and offensive creativity.

In attack, Ismael Saibari will be positioned as the sole striker. This choice could allow the Atlas Lions to operate in a formation close to 4-5-1, with several players capable of quickly supporting the forward.

This match against Mali is intended to allow the national staff to continue their observations and test various combinations, particularly in a significantly reshuffled defense.
