The VfB Stuttgart may be forced to part with one of its key players before the summer transfer window closes. According to information from the German press, Bilal El Khannouss is among the main candidates for a transfer if a significant offer were to arrive on the desks of the club’s management.
Despite showing excellent financial health in its last fiscal year, VfB still needs to generate substantial revenue in the transfer market. The German club aims to finance several ambitious infrastructure projects while maintaining the means to strengthen its squad. In this context, the departure of a high-value player remains a possibility.
Bilal El Khannouss, who was definitively signed by Stuttgart last spring for around 18 million euros after a convincing first season, fits this profile perfectly. After a strong performance in the 2026 World Cup with Morocco, where he established himself as a starter, the attacking midfielder has attracted the attention of several European clubs due to his performances.
According to the same sources, the German club now values the Moroccan international between 40 and 50 million euros. A sale at this amount would allow Stuttgart to meet its financial goals while continuing its investments. At this stage, however, no concrete offer has been made for the Lion of the Atlas.
While Stuttgart hopes to retain the core of its squad for the 2026-2027 season, its general director Alexander Wehrle recently reminded that “no player is unsellable,” implying that the club will consider any proposal that meets its financial requirements.
