Mercato: RB Leipzig closely follows Othmane Maamma

The name Othmane Maamma continues to gain traction in the transfer market. According to several reports in recent hours, RB Leipzig has marked the young Moroccan international’s name among the profiles targeted to strengthen its squad during the upcoming transfer window.

Having had a convincing season with Watford, which he joined after his training at Montpellier, Maamma has established himself as one of the greatest Moroccan hopes of his generation. Crowned U20 World Champion with the Atlas Lions, the 20-year-old winger has confirmed his potential in the Championship thanks to his speed, dribbling skills, and ability to make a difference in one-on-one situations.

His performances have not gone unnoticed by European scouts. In recent months, several Premier League clubs as well as Benfica have been reported to be tracking the Moroccan, whose stock continues to rise. In this context, RB Leipzig’s interest aligns with the ongoing sports policy of the German club, known for investing in young talents with high potential before they explode onto the European scene.

Under contract with Watford until June 2029, Othmane Maamma is unlikely to be available at an affordable price. The Hornets’ management relies on their young winger and holds a favorable position in this matter, as the player continues to attract interest across Europe.

While no concrete movement has yet been officially announced, the interest shown by RB Leipzig confirms an underlying trend: Othmane Maamma is now among the most monitored young Moroccan internationals in the market. The coming weeks should provide more insight into the intentions of interested clubs and the future of the U20 World Champion, whose progress continues to generate significant expectations.
