The name Ali Maamar is making waves in Portugal. According to information from the Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad, reported this Friday by O Jogo, FC Porto is closely watching the performances of the young 21-year-old Moroccan right-back, who is currently under contract with Anderlecht.
After two convincing seasons in Belgium, Ali Maamar has played 52 matches with Anderlecht’s first team, providing six assists. His performances have caught the attention of several European clubs, including FC Porto, which is monitoring his development. However, O Jogo specifies that at this stage, the Moroccan defender is not among the Portuguese club’s priorities for this summer’s transfer window.
A Moroccan international, Ali Maamar has already earned one cap with the Atlas Lions, achieved during a friendly match against Madagascar.
