In a press conference, Luis Enrique confirmed that the Moroccan international is suffering from a groin injury, although he could not yet comment on the severity of the injury.
When directly asked about the health status of his right-back, the Parisian coach was cautious: “It’s at the groin level, it’s an injury but I don’t know the extent. Tomorrow, we will see with the medical tests what the situation is and how serious it is, but he is injured.”
Starting against Stade Brestois, Hakimi was forced to leave his teammates in the first half. After feeling pain, the Moroccan tried to test his leg with the medical staff on the sidelines, briefly raising hopes for a return to the field.
