The future of Khalil Fayad at Montpellier HSC now seems to be written away from La Mosson. The Moroccan midfielder is no longer part of Zoumana Camara’s plans since the resumption of the championship, according to information published this Thursday by Sacha Tavolieri.
The MHSC would thus welcome his departure before the transfer window closes. Fayad is reportedly among the highest-paid players in the squad, while the Montpellier management is looking to reduce their wage bill and free up resources to strengthen the team.
This separation also seems to align with the player’s wishes. Laurent Nicollin recently acknowledged that Fayad wanted to leave his training club and that Montpellier was willing to let him go. His absence from Zoumana Camara’s sporting plans now confirms that the door is wide open.
However, no concrete offers have been announced at this stage. Queens Park Rangers had inquired about his situation before deciding not to pursue the matter. With just a few days left before the market closes, the MHSC still needs to find a solution for their 22-year-old midfielder.
