Bad news for Jones El-Abdellaoui. The young Moroccan international from Celta Vigo will have to undergo surgery on his left knee due to the presence of a small loose body in the joint. The Galician club has decided to take advantage of the international break to proceed with the operation.
At 20 years old, the Moroccan winger has already been experiencing discomfort for several days and missed the last matches of Celta. His unavailability is now expected to extend beyond the break, although no specific recovery time has been communicated yet.
This injury also comes at a bad time for the Moroccan U23 national team. El-Abdellaoui is among the players regularly called up for the Atlas Lions and had notably participated in the gathering last March against Ivory Coast.
The Moroccan will now focus on his recovery before he can return to the pitch with Celta Vigo.
