The young Moroccan U20 international, Jones El-Abdellaoui, continues to stand out with Celta Vigo during the summer preseason. The 19-year-old midfielder once again made an impression on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, during his team’s convincing 3-0 victory over Grasshoppers Zurich in Switzerland, at the GC Campus AG stadium.
Starting in this fourth preseason match, El-Abdellaoui scored the second goal of the game in the 13th minute, shortly after Ilaix Moriba opened the scoring in the 9th minute. He was substituted at halftime, as his coach decided to rotate the squad, making four changes at the break.
Since the restart, the young Lion has participated in four friendly matches. He started against Famalicão (a 0-2 defeat), then came on as a substitute against Braga, where he scored his team’s only goal in a 3-1 loss. He also played 30 minutes in the 2-0 victory over CD Nacional. His goal against Grasshoppers is therefore his second of the preseason so far.
With two goals already to his name and solid performances, Jones El-Abdellaoui confirms his potential and establishes himself as one of the young players to watch closely within the Galician squad.
