Ilyes Housni scored his first goal of the season in Ligue 2 this Friday during AS Nancy Lorraine’s victory on the field of Rodez (3-4), in the 7th round of the championship. As a starter, the Moroccan forward perfectly set the tone for his team by opening the scoring in the 5th minute.
This goal rewards an already convincing start to the season for the 21-year-old player. Before this trip to Rodez, Housni had two assists and was among the most creative players in Ligue 2. On 18 occasions, one of his passes directly allowed a teammate to take a shot, while he also created eight significant chances.
The match then provided a very lively scenario, but Nancy ultimately managed to maintain their lead and won 4-3 at the Paul-Lignon stadium. A valuable victory for the Lorrainers in a match rich in goals.
Thanks to this win, Nancy temporarily climbs to 5th place in the Ligue 2 standings. For Housni, this first goal in his new colors confirms his rise in form after several weeks in which he had primarily distinguished himself through his activity and quality in offensive creation.
