Ilyes Housni has made a strong start under the colors of AS Nancy-Lorraine. Recruited this summer, the Moroccan forward finished the summer preparation with a particularly promising record of seven goals in six matches played by the Lorraine club.
The 21-year-old player found the back of the net against FC Mamer, Thionville, Annecy, and Dijon. He particularly stood out against Haguenau, scoring a hat-trick during Nancy’s decisive 5-0 victory. Housni also contributed to the opening goal in that match, bringing his preseason tally to seven goals and one assist.
Silent only against Troyes, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward scored in five of the six preparation matches that Nancy participated in. Already with six goals after the match against Annecy, he added a seventh goal on Saturday against Dijon, converting a pass from Fdaouch to temporarily give his team the lead.
This efficiency represents an encouraging signal ahead of the start of the Ligue 2 championship. Arriving in Lorraine to regain playing time and revive his progression, Ilyes Housni seems to have already found his bearings in Oswald Tanchot’s system. He will now need to confirm this excellent preparation during official matches.
