Hamza Igamane, decisive joker for LOSC against Le Havre

Reduced to ten men and long under pressure at Le Havre, LOSC nevertheless found the necessary resources to turn around a match that seemed to be slipping away from them. The contributions of the substitutes played a crucial role in this comeback, starting with Hamza Igamane. The Moroccan international, who made a remarkable entrance, was at the heart of Lille’s resurgence thanks to his ability to create danger with every touch of the ball.

The key moment of the match came in the 88th minute, following a long clearance from Berke Özer. Igamane first won his duel in midfield, then found himself surrounded by three Havre players. Where many would have lost the ball, he initiated a lightning-fast sequence: a short dribble, an acceleration, and then a pass to Hakon Haraldsson. The Icelander then set up Ethan Mbappé, whose cross found Igamane perfectly for the winning goal, his fourth off the bench this season.

After the match, Bruno Genesio and several of his players highlighted Igamane’s impact and unpredictability. The coach spoke of “his spontaneity and ability to invent an unexpected move,” while Nathan Ngoy noted how difficult he is to contain in training, given his capacity to dribble, shoot, or create an action without warning. These qualities explain the growing influence of the Moroccan in decisive moments.

This victory at Le Havre, the third consecutive win after those against Paris FC and Dinamo Zagreb, confirms LOSC’s upward trajectory, now just three points behind third place, held by OM. In this dynamic, Hamza Igamane stands out as one of the most surprising revelations of Ligue 1, capable of changing the course of a match and bringing an unpredictable dimension that has become essential in the Lille squad.
