The future of Bilal El Khannouss remains uncertain just days before the transfer window closes. After Newcastle, Everton and two Saudi clubs have expressed interest in the Moroccan international. Contacts already exist between the player’s entourage and the Magpies, although no negotiations have yet been initiated with Stuttgart.
El Khannouss is open to a new departure but is not looking to force his transfer. For its part, VfB remains in a strong position thanks to the attacking midfielder’s contract, which is valid until June 2030. None of the suitors are currently in an advanced stage of the negotiations.
German media reports slightly different estimates regarding Stuttgart’s demands. Sky mentions a sum between 50 and 60 million euros, while the Stuttgarter Zeitung specifies this Friday that the club would start to seriously consider offers starting from around 40 million euros.
Despite the commotion surrounding his future, El Khannouss remains fully integrated into the group. The Moroccan could even start this Friday against Bayern Munich in the opening match of the Bundesliga, especially if Chris Führich is unable to play. Therefore, no departure seems imminent, but the situation could still evolve before September 1.
