Leganés opened the scoring twice, but Abqar’s teammates responded each time, eventually taking the lead 3-2 with a goal from Joan Jordán in the 68th minute. Leganés pushed to equalize, but Alavés’ defense held strong until Munir El Haddadi’s entrance in the 85th minute. Barely on the field, he scored a fantastic header to bring his team level.
However, the Moroccan forward’s situation took a negative turn. After reviewing the VAR, the referee showed him a red card for unsporting behavior towards the Argentine Álvaro Morenio, thus spoiling his return to the pitch. This draw allows Alavés to rise to 15th place in the standings with 24 points, while Leganés, with 22 points, remains in the relegation zone in 18th place.
