Chemsdine Talbi: Al-Ittihad returns to the forefront

The path leading Chemsdine Talbi to Al-Ittihad has gained momentum. While his potential departure to Saudi Arabia seemed to be fading, talkSPORT reports that the Moroccan international is indeed in discussions with the Jeddah club. This information was also relayed on Friday by BBC Sport, which further specifies that Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are keeping a close eye on his situation.

However, the matter remains open. According to Sport Witness, which cites information from journalist Ismael Mahmoud, a Turkish club has engaged in advanced negotiations with Sunderland. Nevertheless, Talbi would prefer a transfer to Al-Ittihad. The Saudi team also has additional time, as their transfer market remains open until September 6.

Asked about the future of his winger, Régis Le Bris did not rule out a departure. “A transfer remains possible,” acknowledged the Sunderland coach, before reiterating his belief in the Moroccan’s potential. The French technician, however, believes that the decision also depends on the trust between the various parties and that it is important to “respect the player’s choice.”

Excluded from Sunderland’s list for the Europa League, Talbi finds himself at a crucial moment in his future.
