In a thrilling quarter-final match against Leganés, Real Madrid won 3-2 thanks to an assist from Brahim Díaz in the final seconds. The Moroccan international delivered a perfect cross for young Gonzalo García (20), who scored a header in added time to secure the victory. After the match, the Madrid goalscorer praised his teammate’s contribution:

“It’s been a dream since my childhood and since I joined the academy. I’m happy to have scored this goal that sends us to the semi-finals. The match was tight, and I knew chances would come from set pieces or corners. That’s why I had to be in the box to make the most of the last balls. I talked to Brahim and asked him to cross to the near post when he was on the right side. He told me to be ready… He sent a perfect cross, and I was able to score.”

Beyond his assist, Brahim Díaz was one of the key players in Madrid’s victory. His offensive involvement also led to Real’s second goal. On a run into the box, the Moroccan international forced Renato Tapia into a mistake. When attempting to clear the ball, the Leganés defender unintentionally passed to Endrick, who finished clinically. Brahim Díaz even had a chance to get his name on the scoreboard in the 74th minute. Perfectly set up by Vinícius Júnior, he found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper, but his shot hit the crossbar, just missing a goal that would have capped off an already impressive performance.
