Brahim Díaz participated in Real Madrid’s convincing victory over Real Sociedad (4-1) on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabéu, in a postponed match from the first round of La Liga. Starting on the bench, the Moroccan international came on in the 78th minute to replace Arda Güler.
Despite limited playing time, the Atlas Lion quickly made his presence felt. In the 83rd minute, he set up Federico Valverde in the box, but the Uruguayan’s shot was saved by Alex Remiro. Brahim Díaz then found the back of the net in the final minute of regulation time, only for his goal to be disallowed by VAR due to Carlos Espí being offside in the build-up.
Real Madrid secured the win thanks to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé (40th, 60th, and 80th minutes) and a goal from Vinícius Júnior (68th minute). Luka Sučić had temporarily equalized for the Basque side in the 44th minute.
