Bilal El Khannouss targeted by Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are keeping a close eye on Bilal El Khannouss, the young attacking midfielder from Leicester City, as a potential reinforcement in midfield should Morgan Gibbs-White depart for Tottenham. According to Football Insider, the club is actively monitoring the 21-year-old Moroccan, who had a promising season despite the Foxes’ relegation.

Capped 21 times by Morocco, El Khannouss has emerged as one of the few bright spots in a struggling team. Signed last summer from Genk, he made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing five assists. His technical profile, ability to navigate tight spaces, and vision make him a highly rated attacking midfielder among scouts.

Although his finishing still needs improvement, El Khannouss shows great potential and has already attracted interest from other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, West Ham, and Sunderland. His age and room for development make him a strategic option for Forest, who are preparing for a possible departure of Gibbs-White following a £60 million offer from Tottenham.

Morgan Gibbs-White, the driving force behind Forest’s play last season, was instrumental in the club’s qualification for European competition. His potential departure would leave a significant gap to fill. However, with El Khannouss, Forest could bet on an emerging talent capable of integrating quickly and bringing new energy to the attacking midfield.

The situation remains one to watch closely, but Nottingham Forest already seems to have a plan in place to prepare for the future, with Bilal El Khannouss as a priority.
