The future of Bilal El Khannouss is likely to continue at VfB Stuttgart. While Newcastle United had recently shown interest in the Moroccan international, no agreement appears to be forming between the player and the English club.
According to the German daily Kicker, the 22-year-old midfielder was not sufficiently convinced by the prospect of joining the Magpies. El Khannouss had considered a return to the Premier League only for a destination he views as a genuine step forward in his career.
Under these circumstances, a transfer to Newcastle now seems very unlikely before the transfer window closes. The interest has significantly cooled, despite recent contacts between the English club and the Moroccan’s representatives.
Unless there is a late push from another contender, Bilal El Khannouss is expected to remain at VfB Stuttgart. Having arrived in Germany in 2025, the former Genk player is still under contract with the Swabian club until June 2030.
