Abdessamad Ezzalzouli has taken another step in his recovery. The Moroccan international participated in Real Betis’ collective training on Tuesday, with a bandage around his right leg. He now hopes to rejoin the team for the match against Real Sociedad on Friday at La Cartuja, marking the Verdiblancos’ entry into La Liga. However, his presence is not yet guaranteed.
Injured in his right knee while with the Moroccan national team in June, Abde had to withdraw from the World Cup. He has gradually returned to the pitch in recent days but was not included in the last friendly match against Inter Milan to avoid any risks. The upcoming training sessions will allow Manuel Pellegrini to assess his ability to return to competition. Diario de Sevilla confirms that his return to the group is hoped for as early as Friday.
This return comes as the future of the Moroccan winger continues to fuel the transfer market. Real Betis does not plan to sell him and directs interested clubs to his release clause, set at 60 million euros. Newcastle had already inquired about his situation but has not made any progress on the matter.
Galatasaray is also reportedly monitoring Abde, considered a backup option in case of failure in the pursuit of Gabriel Martinelli, according to the Turkish media outlet Fanatik. However, no offer has been announced for the Betis player. For now, his priority remains to regain full fitness and reclaim an important role in Pellegrini’s setup.
