Ayyoub Bouaddi is officially among the ten players nominated for the Kopa Trophy 2026, awarded to the best young player of the season during the Ballon d’Or ceremony. The Moroccan international midfielder, now at Manchester City, receives this distinction for the second consecutive year.
At 18 years old, Bouaddi played 55 matches during the 2025-2026 season, scoring one goal and providing two assists. His performances in Lille’s colors allowed him to reach a new milestone before his summer transfer to Manchester City, where he will now aim to continue his development.
The Atlas Lion had already been selected among the finalists for the Kopa Trophy in 2025, finishing in ninth place. This new nomination thus confirms his status among the most promising young players in world football.
Facing tough competition from players like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí, Warren Zaïre-Emery, and Lennart Karl, Bouaddi can nevertheless hope to improve his 2025 ranking and move closer to the top spots. The winner will be revealed on October 26 in London.
