The Azzedine Ounahi case has seen a significant new development. Girona has authorized the Moroccan international to travel to Amsterdam to discuss with Ajax, who wishes to advance its recruitment in this final stretch of the transfer window.
The information is confirmed in the Netherlands by VoetbalPrimeur. The Dutch media indicates that it has verified with its own sources that the green light given by Girona to the 26-year-old midfielder is indeed real. Ounahi can thus go to Amsterdam to negotiate the terms of a potential arrival at Ajax.
This authorization represents an additional step in a case that has been followed for several weeks by the Amsterdam club. Ounahi knows Míchel Sánchez well, having worked under him at Girona, which could influence the Moroccan’s decision.
However, competition is not entirely ruled out. Several other clubs remain interested in the Atlas Lion, and his trip to the Netherlands does not necessarily mean that a definitive agreement has already been reached. Discussions still need to determine if the various parties can come to an agreement.
In the Netherlands, FCUpdate also confirms that Ounahi has received the green light from Girona to travel to Amsterdam. The media also recalls that the PSV option, mentioned in recent days in Spain, is no longer considered active from the Eindhoven side.
Ajax thus seems to have taken a favorable position in the case, but no signature or definitive agreement with Girona has yet been announced. The coming hours could now be crucial for the future of Azzedine Ounahi.
