Ayyoub Bouaddi was at the center of a sensitive issue between Morocco and France. According to information from L’Équipe, the young midfielder from LOSC, long courted by both national teams, has ultimately decided in favor of the Atlas Lions, prioritizing the country of his origins and his parents.
In this matter, Zinedine Zidane reportedly tried to convince the player to pursue his international future with the French team. This is a strong signal, as the former number 10 of the Blues remains a major figure in French football. However, despite this prestigious interest, Bouaddi did not change his course.
The Moroccan preferred to follow his heart. After representing France in several youth categories, notably with the U21s, the 18-year-old has chosen to write the next chapter of his international story with the Atlas Lions. Last March, he explained that he did not want to rush his decision, highlighting the importance of this choice in his young career.
This decision represents another significant win for Morocco, which continues to attract high-level dual-national talents. With Bouaddi, the Atlas Lions gain one of the most promising midfielders of his generation, already established in the rotation of LOSC and regarded as one of the great talents in European football.
