Morocco is not expected to face Argentina during the upcoming international window in October. According to Argentine journalist Verónica Brunati, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation attempted to lure the Albiceleste to Rabat, but the Argentine Football Association reportedly declined the proposal.
According to the same source, Morocco offered around one million dollars to the AFA to organize this friendly match on Moroccan soil. However, this offer did not convince the Argentine federation, whose priority is now to schedule its upcoming friendly matches at home, in Argentina.
This decision is therefore not related to a sporting refusal to face the Lions of the Atlas, but rather to the strategy chosen by the AFA for the upcoming international windows. After the 2026 World Cup, the team led by Lionel Scaloni is looking to rebuild its schedule and reconnect with its audience for its first matches of this new period. The AFA was still recently working on defining opponents, dates, and venues for its upcoming friendly matches.
Meanwhile, Morocco continues its search to complete its October schedule. The FRMF aims to take advantage of the international windows to provide the Lions of the Atlas with high-level opponents, with the goal of continuing preparations for the upcoming major events.
A match against Argentina would obviously have been a particularly prestigious encounter, just a few months after the 2026 World Cup. Unless the situation changes, this match is not expected to take place in October.
