Manchester City is actively pursuing its efforts to recruit Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the English club has intensified discussions with LOSC, which is reportedly demanding no less than €100 million for a transfer this summer.
Exchanges between Manchester City and Lille have reportedly been ongoing for several weeks. However, the amount of the deal could be lowered if the parties agree on a formula that includes a loan-back to LOSC or a pre-agreement allowing the player to stay an additional season in the North before moving to England.
At just 18 years old, Ayyoub Bouaddi is considered one of the greatest hopes of French football. A Moroccan international, the midfielder confirmed his potential last season under Lille’s colors, attracting the interest of several major European clubs due to his maturity, technical quality, and game vision.
According to Ben Jacobs, the player is expected to meet with LOSC president Olivier Létang soon now that the World Cup is over. The two men are expected to discuss the future of the young Moroccan. Létang has also recently publicly expressed his desire to keep Bouaddi for another season to continue his development before a potential move to a major European club.
While Manchester City seems to have taken a lead in this matter, Ayyoub Bouaddi’s future should become clearer in the coming weeks, following discussions between the player, his entourage, and the Lille management.
