Amine Sbaï delivered one of the highlights of the evening on Saturday with Angers. Starting against Troyes during the 5th round of Ligue 1, the Moroccan forward scored a superb goal following an assist from his compatriot Amine El-Ouazzani, significantly contributing to Angers’ 2-0 victory at the Raymond-Kopa Stadium.
Already very prominent in the first half, Sbaï had provided the opening goal to Prosper Peter in the 42nd minute, thanks to an accurate cross from the left side. However, it was especially his goal scored in the 57th minute that left a lasting impression. Well found by El-Ouazzani, the Moroccan international faced the Troyes goalkeeper before executing a brilliant technical move: a delicate touch to eliminate the keeper and completely open the path to the goal, before finishing into the empty net.
This goal was full of composure and skill, stemming from a beautiful connection between the two Moroccans of SCO. El-Ouazzani, also a starter, perfectly supported the play before assisting Sbaï in the decisive area. The latter thus ended the match with one goal and one assist, being directly involved in both of his team’s goals.
Thanks to this success, Angers secured their first home victory of the season and climbed to 6th place in the standings. For Sbaï, this performance particularly confirms his ability to make a difference in the final third, just days after his coach Stéphane Gilli emphasized the need for him to become more decisive.
