Achraf Hakimi will not play in the Classique between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for this Sunday evening at 8:45 PM at the Stade Vélodrome. The Moroccan international is not included in the squad of 21 players called up by Luis Enrique for this match of the 5th round of Ligue 1.
Injured last Sunday during PSG’s victory on the pitch of Brest (1-0), Hakimi was forced to leave his teammates as early as the 39th minute. The Parisian club later announced that their right-back was suffering from a slight injury to his right thigh. After several days of treatment, the Lion of the Atlas resumed individual training on the field on Friday, leaving some doubt about his presence against OM.
This progress ultimately was not sufficient. PSG officially announced their squad for the trip to Marseille on Sunday morning, without Hakimi. This will be the first Ligue 1 match missed by the Moroccan this season, having participated in the first four rounds of the championship.
In his absence, Luis Enrique will need to reorganize his right flank at the Vélodrome. Warren Zaïre-Emery is notably an option to fill this position, which he has already been called upon to occupy with PSG. Hakimi can now continue his recovery with the goal of quickly returning to collective training.
