Abdel Abqar was proposed to Sevilla FC during the final hours of the summer transfer window. According to journalist Álvaro Muñoz Gómez, speaking for Zona Mixta, the representatives of the Moroccan international submitted his profile to the Andalusian sports management, but they did not wish to pursue this possibility.
The defender’s entourage was aware of Luis García Plaza’s desire to strengthen his defensive line. The Sevilla coach knows Abqar well, having managed him at Deportivo Alavés. Despite this connection, his recruitment was not among the priorities of sporting director José Ignacio Navarro, who was more focused on bringing in a defensive midfielder and several departures.
No offer from Sevilla FC to Getafe or negotiations between the two clubs have been reported. It was merely a proposal made by the player’s representatives, which the Nervión club chose not to explore further.
Under contract with Getafe until June 2028, Abdel Abqar remains at the Madrid club. His name circulated in Sevilla during the final hours of the market, but this possibility did not turn into a genuine operation.
