Abde Ezzalzouli is set to return to competition with Real Betis. The Moroccan international is once again included in the squad called up by Manuel Pellegrini for the away match against Villarreal, scheduled for this Monday, September 14, at 21:00, as part of the 5th round of La Liga.
The Moroccan winger had been sidelined in recent weeks due to several physical issues, particularly with his knee, which significantly limited his playing time since the start of the season. His return is therefore good news for Betis, who regains one of their key offensive assets for this encounter against the Yellow Submarine.
Manuel Pellegrini confirmed before the match that he could once again count on Abde. However, an immediate starting position is not guaranteed, as the Andalusian staff must still manage his return cautiously after several disrupted weeks.
This return also comes in a particular context for the Moroccan. According to AS, Betis reportedly rejected several offers exceeding 40 million euros for their player during the summer transfer window. The Andalusian club did not want to part ways with Abde, believing that a departure this late would complicate the search for a replacement of equivalent quality.
This decision illustrates the importance placed on the Moroccan international in Manuel Pellegrini’s project. Now available again, Abde will attempt to gradually regain his rhythm and an important place in Betis’ starting eleven, with his first opportunity coming tonight against Villarreal.
