The transfer of Ayyoub Bouaddi to Manchester City is reportedly finalized. On Monday, August 17, journalist Nicolò Schira described the operation as a “done deal,” stating that the Moroccan international midfielder will leave LOSC to join the Citizens until June 2031.
The Daily Mirror confirms that the 18-year-old player has given his approval to Manchester City and that a five-season contract awaits him at the Etihad Stadium. Bouaddi has also expressed to the Lille management his desire to join the English club this summer.
This announcement marks a new advancement in a case that has seemed close to resolution for several days. On Sunday, Reuters reported that Manchester City was on the verge of completing a deal that could reach £85 million. The Guardian previously specified that Bouaddi had already reached an agreement on his personal terms, while both clubs were still finalizing negotiations.
Having delivered remarkable performances with Morocco during the World Cup, Bouaddi is considered one of the great talents of his generation. His arrival would fit into the significant reconstruction of Manchester City’s midfield, as Rodri nears a move to FC Barcelona and coach Enzo Maresca aims to integrate his new recruits quickly.
However, Manchester City and LOSC have yet to officially confirm the transfer. Despite Nicolò Schira’s announcement, the final conclusion of the operation still needs to be confirmed by both clubs.
