After their draw against Norway (1-1), the Atlas Lions were granted a day of rest by Mohamed Ouahbi, the national coach of Morocco. This important break allows the team to recover before entering the final stretch of their preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
The Moroccan internationals took advantage of this pause on Monday, the day after the friendly match held in the United States. Several players, including Issa Diop, Chadi Riad, and Ayoub Bouaddi, were spotted in New York, particularly around Times Square, where many Moroccan supporters were able to greet them and take photos with them.
The national team is set to resume training on Tuesday, with a session dedicated to preparing for their first World Cup match against Brazil. This highly anticipated encounter will see Mohamed Ouahbi’s men dive straight into the action.
Placed in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti, the Atlas Lions will kick off their World Cup campaign on June 13 at 11:00 PM Moroccan time, which is midnight on the night of June 13-14 in France, against the Seleção.
