The Moroccan women’s national team achieved a prestigious victory by defeating Poland 3-2 on the final day of the group stage of the 2025™ FIFA Futsal World Cup in the Philippines. This success confirms the rise of the Atlas Lionesses in this global competition.

After a challenging start against one of the tournament favorites, Argentina (a 6-0 defeat), Adil Sayeh’s players admirably responded by securing their first victory 3-2 against the Philippines. The Moroccan team then confirmed their progress with a valuable win against Poland, thus validating a historic qualification for the quarterfinals.

This is a remarkable achievement for this team, the reigning African champions, which confirms its progress and ability to compete with established nations in the discipline.

Next Challenge: Spain in the Quarterfinals

The Atlas Lionesses will now face Spain in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™. This confrontation is against one of the best teams in the world, currently ranked 2nd in the FIFA standings, behind Brazil. Morocco, ranked 31st globally, is up against a true giant of the sport.

However, nothing is set in stone. Every match has its own truth, and this Moroccan team has already proven that it can defy the odds. The team must approach this clash with determination, ambition, and without any complexes to hope to overturn La Roja.

    An Already Historic Journey

Regardless of what happens in the remainder of the tournament, Morocco is having a remarkable competition. This qualification for the quarterfinals not only illustrates the growing potential of Moroccan women’s futsal but also the foundational work carried out in recent years by the Federation and the entire technical structure supporting this team.

The Atlas Lionesses are now ready for a new rendezvous with history. See you in the quarterfinals against Spain: a huge challenge, but far from impossible.
