Deportivo Alavés officially announced on Monday the signing of young Moroccan left-back Youssef Lakhadim. Coming from Real Madrid Castilla, the 21-year-old player has committed to a four-year deal with the Basque club. He will wear the number 3 shirt.
Emerging from Real Madrid’s reserve team, Lakhadim played 35 matches last season. His solid performances earned him several call-ups to the first team, although he has yet to make his official debut under Carlo Ancelotti.
Courted by several Spanish clubs, the Moroccan native ultimately chose to join Alavés, where he hopes to take the next step in La Liga. The Basque club is counting on his dynamic profile and ability to contribute offensively.
With this transfer, Lakhadim also hopes to get closer to the Moroccan national team, as Morocco will host the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in December 2025.
